American hip-hop recording artist Leland Austin (born March 26, 1986) is better known as Yung L.A., or Da Boi Lay. His debut single, “Ain’t I”, peaked at number 47 in the US Billboard Hot 100 charts and number seven on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts. Austin’s second single, “Futuristic love (Elroy),” features Ricco Barrino, an American singer. It was released in 2009.
In an interview on February 20, 2011, it was revealed that Austin had received a tattoo of his face that resembled the logo for local Atlanta record label Duct Tape Entertainment. Alley Boy, Duct Tape’s co-chief executive officer (CoCEO), spoke out about Austin’s tattoo. Alley Boy is a fellow rapper and said that Austin didn’t meet with any of the Duct Tape heads to discuss the tattoo. He was not present at the sit-down when we cut it up. Big Bank Black, other cats and people I grew up loving me deeply were my partners in crime. That was the relationship I had.” Yung L.A. announced on March 2, 2011 that he would not remove the tattoo and stated “Duck Still on My Face.” It’s Not Going Anywhere. “I got goons behind me.” Austin admitted that he had covered up the tattoo on March 9, 2011.
