Jennifer Schuett Assault & Attack Case Details
Jennifer Schuett was eight-year-old when she was attacked, kidnapped, and assaulted. The kidnapper abducted her from her bedroom in her ground-floor Texas apartment at the crack of dawn in August 1990.
She was subjected to sexual assault and then had her throat cut from ear to ear before being abandoned to die in a thickly wooded field. She could not scream or even speak due to damage to her vocal cords.
After being attacked, she lay in a field for 12 hours until being found, close to death, by a group of children. A few days later, she was writing notes to the police from her hospital bed, telling them that her attacker had said his name was Dennis.
She even collaborated with a sketch artist who drew the offender’s portrait that was remarkably close to Bradford’s old driver’s license photo. The investigators pursued the case for 19 years, and Schuett did not give up either.
And, the long-awaited justice finally knocked on her door when advanced DNA testing helped the officers to track down the attacker. Today, her story has become an inspiration to many survivors to fight back.
